Battle of Tarawa

THE MARINES AT TARAWA is a 1944 short documentary film directed by Louis Hayward. It used authentic footage taken at the Battle of Tarawa to tell the story of the American servicemen from the time they get the news that they are to participate in the invasion to the final taking of the island and raising of the Stars and Stripes.

Hiroshima August 6, 1945

On August 6, 1945, the United States becomes the first and only nation to use atomic weaponry during wartime when it drops an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Approximately 80,000 people are killed as a direct result of the blast, and another 35,000 are injured. At least another 60,000 would be dead by the end of the year from the effects of the fallout.

HOW IS THE DATE OF EASTER DETERMINED

Specifically, Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday following the full Moon that occurs on or just after the spring equinox. Yes, it’s a bit confusing at first read!Let’s break it down: In 2021, the spring equinox happens on Saturday, March 20. The first full Moon to occur after that date rises on Sunday, March 28. Therefore, Easter will be observed on the subsequent Sunday, April 4

early this year (2/27/21)

I'm a bad person - left them 1 star

I am 20 miles away. They may fix it in 2 months. Short handed.

Response from the owner 22 hours ago
Oh wow!! I’m the one that spoke to you on the phone and told you we were short staffed due to a NATIONAL PANDEMIC, you are literally going to leave a one star review for being understaffed??? Small businesses have literally closed up due to this and we are trying our hardest to do the best we can. It’s people like you that give a bad name to the human race!!! We are a small family owned business try our damnedest to do everything we can to serve everyone, we also have a training program of 3 months for all new employees if you can’t except the fact that we want to ensure that our employees are certified and trained properly to fix all and any appliances possible then we definitely do not want you as a customer! We take pride in our work and you must take pride in being a keyboard warrior! Shame on you for knocking a business that is short staffed during a NATIONAL PANDEMIC!!! You sir are a real piece of work!!!! My name is Jessica and if you have any more problems with how we run our business then you call me I’ll be glad to tell you what I think about you as a person!!!.

********* "definitely do not want you as a customer!"
Don't worry.

Signs and symptoms may appear less than two days after exposure to the virus. These may include coughing, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, headache, and fever. People usually recover in seven to ten days, but some symptoms may last up to three weeks. Occasionally, those with other health problems may develop pneumonia.

Peggy the Flying Red Horse in Lawrenceburg

Built to "pull wheelies" in parades, Peggy is housed in Lawrenceburg behind glass so everyone can see it. https://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/59391

Peggy was built in 1935 by Frank Taylor, who lived north of town and was a Mobil Oil distributor. That's where he got the winged red horse ("Peggy" is short for Pegasus) that he bolted to a Model T, which he modified to buck like a bronco. Peggy was the acknowledged "king" of the American Legion clown cars. Frank drove the car in hundreds of parades well into his eighties.
