Happy Birthday Samuel Morse 4/27/1791

Samuel Morse inventor of the Morse Code
April 27, 1791

Morse code is a method of transmitting text information as a series of on-off tones, lights, or clicks that can be directly understood by a skilled listener or observer without special equipment. The International Morse Code encodes the ISO basic Latin alphabet, some extra Latin letters, the Arabic numerals and a small set of punctuation and procedural signals as standardized sequences of short and long signals called "dots" and "dashes",or "dits" and "dahs". Because many non-English natural languages use more than the 26 Roman letters, extensions to the Morse alphabet exist for those languages.

Slave labor is never a good idea

Elmer Bendiner was a navigator in a B-17 during WW II. He tells this story of a World War II bombing run over Kassel, Germany , and the unexpected result of a direct hit on their gas tanks. "Our B-17, the Tondelayo, was barraged by flak from Nazi antiaircraft guns. That was not unusual, but on this particular occasion our gas tanks were hit."  "Later, as I reflected on a 20 millimeter shell piercing the fuel tank without touching off an explosion, our pilot, Clinton White, told me it was not quite that simple. "On the morning following the raid, he had gone down to ask our crew chief for that shell as a souvenir of unbelievable luck." "The crew chief told White that not just one shell but 11 had been found in the gas tanks.......11 unexploded shells where only one was sufficient to blast us out of the sky. It was as if the sea had parted for us. A miracle, I thought." "The shells had been sent to the armorers to be defused. The armorers told him that when they opened each of those shells, they found no explosive charge. They were as clean as a whistle and just as harmless." "Empty? Not all of them! One contained a carefully rolled piece of paper. On it was a scrawl written in Czech. We had no idea of what it said.  The Intelligence people scoured our base for a man who could read Czech. Eventually they found someone to decipher the note. Translated, the note read:               "This is all we can do for you now.........using Jewish slave labor is never a good idea."

Clearly the Germans had been outwitted and Czech-mated by slave laborers.

Why so mean ?

It is happening again !
Am I just just unlucky or do I have it coming ? Twice now in a decade two individuals have lied to discredit my character. The things they are telling my friends are completely untrue and can be proven so. A few examples are; I beat my wife, I say the "F" word in public places constantly, I say degrading things about my friend's wife, The police are at my house constantly, and on and on. All and more completely untrue. I hardly know these people that are saying these things. What do they have to gain, are they jealous ? What can they gain by doing this ? I saw a lawyer to seek legal action to stop the lies, but the lawyer tells me it is not unlawful to lie, nothing legally can be done. I ask you, what can I do ? the answer is simple, "my true friends know I would never do these things they are stating about me"..

Blood Moon

The Blood Moon Prophecy is an idea popularized by Christian pastors John Hagee and Mark Biltz that states the upcoming tetrad (a series of four consecutive total lunar eclipses, with six full moons in between, and no intervening partial lunar eclipses) which begins with the April 2014 lunar eclipse is a sign of significant things to come. Biltz believes that the Second Coming will coincide with the final eclipse of the tetrad, while Hagee only believes the eclipses are a sign of coming change in the course of history for Israel.

Madison Milton Bridge

Built by J.G. White Engineering Corp., construction was started in 1928, and completed in 1929, at the cost of $1,365,101.84. It was opened for traffic on December 20, 1929. Originally a toll bridge, on November 1, 1947 at noon the toll was removed. In 1997 the bridge was refurbished. This was after a 1995 study which could not agree on a new bridge location, so $10 million was used for the refurbishment.

Work continues on the Madison / Milton bridge over the Ohio river. You can keep up on the progress at their Web Cam page.
