USS Indiana
USS Indiana Feb. 28th, 1893 was the lead ship of her class and the first battleship in the United States Navy comparable to foreign battleships of the time. Authorized in 1890 and commissioned five years later, she was a small battleship, though with heavy armor and ordnance. The ship also pioneered the use of an intermediate battery. She was designed for coastal defense and as a result her decks were not safe from high waves on the open ocean.

They Don't Wear Purple Hearts In Heaven
it hit home for me. This happened at
our home in 1945. My brother was in the
army not the Marines, but the message
was the same....... Jack
They Don't Wear Purple Hearts In Heaven
I lost my brother to a foreign land;
I was too young to even understand.
There was a knock at the front door,
then Momma wasn't smiling anymore.
The man at the door was a Marine;
the first I've ever seen.
Momma told me to go out and play,
then the preacher came and they started to pray.
Tears ran down Momma's eyes,
and I heard her say, "Why, Lord, Why"?
Father stood there seemingly mindless,
all he said was, "We've lost another
of America's finest."
The Marine handed Momma a small velvet case,
inside was a Purple Ribbon, attached to a
gold heart with Washington's face.
I asked Momma if it were mine,
but she said, "It's your brother's, Sunshine."
"Momma can we send it to Kevin?"
She answered, "They don't wear Purple Hearts in Heaven."

Solar Storm Heads Toward Earth
According to SpaceWeather.com and the SOHO web site, on February 14th at 8:56 PM EST, the Sun produced its largest solar flare in over four years, which was accompanied by a coronal mass ejection (CME). It has been rated as a Class X2 flare, the largest in the new solar cycle. This solar explosion occurred from sunspot cluster 1158 and followed two smaller CMEs that occurred during the previous two days. How do solar flares work and how will this event affect us? Patsy Cline 1932 - 1963
I was setting in a club bar having a beer after the day was done when a young couple came in. The male ordered a beer and the girl ordered a coke, it was plane to see the girl was under 21. She strolled back to the back where the juke box was located. She stood infront of it for quite a while, she then retured to the bar and said to the barmaid,"What kind of a bar is this? there is no Patsy Cline songs on that juke box". This incident has always stuck in my mine because this cute little girl was not even 21 years old and Patsy Cline had died some 20+ years before she was born. This just shows that Patsy Cline's music will live forever. Hear some of her songs on YouTube and read about her life at Wikipedia
See/hear a Youtube video of Patsy
Patsy Cline (September 8, 1932 – March 5, 1963), born Virginia Patterson Hensley, was an American country music singer who enjoyed pop music crossover success during the era of the Nashville sound in the early 1960s. Since her death in 1963 at age 30 in a private airplane crash at the height of her career, she has been considered one of the most influential, successful, and acclaimed female vocalists of the 20th century.
Cline was best known for her rich tone and emotionally expressive bold contralto voice, which, along with her role as a mover and shaker in the country music industry, has been cited as an inspiration by many vocalists of various music genres. Her life and career have been the subject of numerous books, movies, documentaries, articles and stage plays.
Her hits included "Walkin' After Midnight," "I Fall to Pieces," "She's Got You," "Crazy," and "Sweet Dreams." Posthumously, millions of her albums have sold over the past 50 years. She has been given numerous awards, which have given her an iconic status with some fans similar to that of legends Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. Ten years after her death, she became the first female solo artist inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
In 2002, Cline was voted by artists and members of the country music industry as number one on CMT's television special, The 40 Greatest Women of Country Music, and in 1999 she was voted number 11 on VH1's special The 100 Greatest Women in Rock and Roll by members and artists of the rock industry. She was also ranked 46th in Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Singers of all Time." According to her 1973 Country Music Hall of Fame plaque, "Her heritage of timeless recordings is testimony to her artistic capacity."

The Supremes
As I lapped the Square and circled the Dog 'n Suds with my best girl beside I listened to WLS and WSAI on the AM radio in my 57. This was but one of the great songs we heard.....Jack
The Supremes, an American female singing group, were the premier act of Motown Records during the 1960s. The Supremes have sold over 100 million records to date. Their catalog remains active 50 years later. Originally founded as The Primettes in Detroit, Michigan, in 1959, The Supremes' repertoire included doo-wop, pop, soul, Broadway show tunes, psychedelic soul, and disco. They were the most commercially successful of Motown's acts and are, to date, America's most successful vocal group with 12 number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Most of these hits were written and produced by Motown's main songwriting and production team, Holland–Dozier–Holland. At their peak in the mid-1960s, The Supremes rivaled The Beatles in worldwide popularity, and their success made it possible for future African-American R&B and soul musicians to find mainstream success. Founding members Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, Diana Ross, and Betty McGlown, all from the Brewster-Douglass public housing project in Detroit, formed The Primettes as the sister act to The Primes (with Paul Williams and Eddie Kendricks, who would go on to form The Temptations). Barbara Martin replaced McGlown in 1960, and the group signed with Motown the following year as The Supremes. Martin left the act in early 1962, and Ross, Ballard, and Wilson carried on as a trio. During the mid-1960s, The Supremes achieved mainstream success with Ross as lead singer. In 1967, Motown president Berry Gordy renamed the group Diana Ross & the Supremes, and replaced Ballard with Cindy Birdsong. Ross left to pursue a solo career in 1970 and was replaced by Jean Terrell, at which point the group's name reverted to The Supremes. After 1972, the lineup changed more frequently; Lynda Laurence, Scherrie Payne, and Susaye Greene all became members of the group during the mid-1970s. The Supremes disbanded in 1977 after an 18-year run.

Virus - phishing alert
I recently shipped a package at UPS, this may or not be the start of this problem. I received two emails this morning, both exactly the same. The Subject was "United Parcel Service notification #01117" The return was: "info22174@ups.com" Both contained a zipped attachment (compressed) and a gif photo. I believe this email contains a Virus. I did not open the zipped attachment or view the photo. I would be very suspicious of this email if you receive it. Check it out further with UPS or delete it like I did. If you opened the attachment run a virus scan.
Not a Sun Dog
A circumhorizontal arc is an optical phenomenon - an ice-halo formed by plate shaped ice crystals in high level cirrus clouds. The current accepted names are circumhorizon arc or lower symmetric 46° plate arc.[1] The complete halo is a huge, multi-coloured band running parallel to the horizon with its center beneath the sun. The distance below the sun is twice as far as the common 22-degree halo. Red is the uppermost colour. Often, when the halo forming cloud is small or patchy, only fragments of the arc are seen.
