CQ DX on the Ham Bands
I suppose CQ DX means different things to different people. To me it means don't call me if you are inside the USA. I guess for some like the Lid in Texas that calls me here in Indiana on 40 meters covering (QRMing) up the Ham in Europe. All you can do is move frequency and let'em call. I won't answer !! .... How Far Can You Talk
Novice Radio Station WN9GOA |
People that are not familiar with Amateur (Ham) Radio ask how far do you talk? Distance is not a factor but how rare the location is. If there is no one there for you to communicate with you don't communicate. Heard Island is approximately 12,500 miles from my location but there are only a group of Hams that travail there about every 10 years or so. This makes the location very rare, not the distance. Below is an above average day of contacts I made. There is nothing rare as there are thousands of Hams at any of these locations, but the distances are great. Some are over 10,000 miles away.
