Although I lost $50 I feel very good about stopping this couple in the scam with Liberia. I had an advantage as I work for a private Investigator and am friends with our Town Marshal Both of these people took the time and used their resources to at the very least take out part of the link back to Liberia. I am sorry about some of the other people that have contacted me about loosing their money to this scam, some lost hundreds of dollars. I always used PayPal except this time, and whamo ! I hit the scam pro. I will never send another money order again.

Hi Jack,I just received a call from a Lt. Moss from Elyria, Oh. police dept. They have raided a house (Brinda Hanson ?) and found evidence of a millions of dollar scam operation. the scam is based out of Liberia Africa. Moss stated I would never see the money order or my $50.00, He thanked me for the help in this investigation, but nothing can be done to recover the funds because of the Liberia Africa location.
Jack Demaree WB9OTXThat is the best news I've heard in a long, long time. The entire ham community thanks you for your efforts. All three ham swap websites are still plagued by multiple scammers - I hope this will make at least some of them disappear. Even if we can't touch the real scammers in Africa at least we can get their accomplices here in the U.S. and put them away.If you haven't already please consider writing the same information and post it on QRZ.COM (in their Swapmeet - Stolen Radios, Scams and Rip-offs area) and on EHAM.NET (just make a listing under Scams). All of us work together and share information - I have copied both Dave KN7S and Mark NA6M on this e-mail.Thank you again - you have done a tremendous service to the ham community.73,
